Dr. Rami Sherif performs tailored breast lift (with or without simultaneous augmentation) as well as breast reduction to restore natural, elegant breast shape. Both breast lifts and reductions involve reshaping the skin and soft tissue of the breast to restore a natural, perky, and youthful appearance to the breasts. In a reduction, however, breast tissue is also removed to create a smaller breast, while in a lift the goal is to generally maintain volume while reshaping the breast. Some women would like to add volume at the time of a lift, for which Dr. Sherif would perform a simultaneous breast augmentation at the time of the lift, however not everyone is a candidate for this operation.

Why consider breast lift or reduction?

  • Lift sagging or deflated breasts

  • Reduce breast volume to alleviate back, neck, and shoulder discomfort

  • Reposition and reshape the nipples for better symmetry

  • Improve clothing fit and restore youthful projection

  • Achieve a size and shape more aligned with your frame and lifestyle

Am I a candidate?

These procedures may be right for you if:

  • Your breasts have lost shape or sagged due to weight changes, pregnancy, or aging

  • You experience physical discomfort or posture issues from breast size
  • You want a more youthful, perky shape

  • You’re at or near your ideal weight and a non-smoker

Recovery Timeline

  • Rest, compression bra worn. Mild soreness and swelling are common.

  • Return to desk work or light home duties. Incisions begin healing.

  • Swelling, bruising, and discloration decrease; breasts begin to “settle.”

  • Cleared for light exercise. Shape and position continue to refine.

  • Final shape and softness emerge. Scars begin to fade.

Dr. Sherif's Approach

Breast lifts (with or without simultaneous augmentation) and reductions require both technical finesse and an artistic eye. Dr. Sherif takes a tailored approach to each patient, choosing the surgical method that provides optimal lift, minimal scarring, and lasting shape. For reductions, tissue removal is carefully balanced to preserve blood flow and symmetry, while lifts focus on repositioning the nipple and reshaping the breast mound without implants. When the patient desires an increase in size and fullness, Dr. Sherif performs his advanced combination breast lift-augmentation where he placed a breast implant and then meticulously shapes the breast around the implant with the addition of an internal bra to create a beautiful and long-lasting result.

Highlights of Dr. Sherif’s approach:

  • Anchor or Lollipop incisions

  • Breast tissue reshaping for long term results
  • Nipple and areola repositioning

  • Internal bra support (patient depending)
  • Advanced scar management for discreet healing

Questions about appointments

Here are answers to common inquiries to help you feel fully prepared.

You can schedule an appointment with Dr. Rami Sherif by calling (214) 723-6709, visiting our consultation page, or by emailing our office at drsherifoffice@dpsi.org. One of our office representatives will answer your inquiry within 24-48 hours and get you scheduled to see Dr. Sherif!

Dr. Sherif will learn about your goals and desires. After obtaining a detailed health history, Dr. Sherif will perform a physical exam to determine the best approach for you.

Temporary numbness is common and usually resolves in weeks to months. Permanent partial or total sensory loss is possible in up to 25% of people, however Dr. Sherif utilizes advanced techniques to attempt to preserve as much sensation as possible.

Breastfeeding may still be possible, though outcomes vary. If future breastfeeding is a priority, mention this during your consultation so Dr. Sherif can tailor his approach.

While breast lifts restore natural shape and contour to the breast and reposition the nipple, they do not increase the size of the breasts or offer long term "upper pole fullness." If you desire to have bigger breasts, or desire upper pole fullness or a look of having cleavage without wearing a bra, then an augmentation in addition to your lift is probably recommended.

Many patients can have breast augmentation at the same time as a lift. The decision depends on how much drooping and deflation you have as well as how much bigger you'd like to be. Dr. Sherif would carefully evaluate you and offer a treatment plan based on your individual anatomy and surgical goals.

Fat grafting to the breasts is a possibility for many patients, however it is generally reserved for those who want a very subtle increase in size and who desire to avoid implants. Breast implants typically offer a more consistent and long-lasting impact on fullness.

Dr. Sherif very rarely uses drains for any breast lift, reduction, or augmentation. In certain rare circumstances where a very significant amount of breast tissue is going to be removed, he considers placing a drain to help with fluid retention and swelling. Dr. Sherif will discuss this based on your surgical plan.
